I have been doing a few Hill Climbs at the end of the season just for a bit of fun. I have not really done any training at all except for core stability and running so while results are nice, its nothing to lose sleep over. My first one was the John Borcroft Memorial Hill Climb on Leith Hill in Surrey. The climb lasted about 4 minutes. I started off way too fast and blew towards the top but managed to hold on to third place. I had to give my bike back to the team the following day but didn't have a replacement bike. I was building it the morning before Catford! It only had 1 chainring and no back brake. The following Sunday I had the Catford and Bec Hill Climbs in Sussex. The atmosphere was great and the effort was only 2 minutes. At Catford I won the Junior event but again started a bit too fast and faded.
